Linux 6.2, i.e. support for M1 Mac, Intel Arc GPU and WiFi 7
On Sunday, February 19, a new version of the Linux kernel 6.2 was released and a few words about it below.
What's new, what's good?
The new kernel is big news in the Linux world. Among other things, because a lot of changes are network-related, which is especially important because many network devices use Linux.
And so, support for the still fresh 800 Gbps network standard is introduced, as well as partial support for WiFi 7 (IEEE P802.11be), i.e. the creators are not sleeping but looking into the future.
There is also support for Intel Arc graphics units, Apple M1 Pro, Max and Ultra devices. The NTFS3 driver has also been updated, which extends the ability to work with Windows. Improvements are also made to the exFAT file system.
